Covid-19: Hushpuppi’s trial suspended till next year

Suspected internet fraudster and  guru, Raymond Igbalode popularly known as Hushpuppi who’s case has been on trial in the United States has now been suspended due to Corona virus. 

Hushpuppi has about seven months extra to worry over what his fate will amount to as it has now been re-scheduled till next year.

His trial has been scheduled for May 4, 2021 exactly seven months from now.
Hushpuppi’s case has been a hot cake ever since his arrest in Dubai Following evidence of his involvements in international cyber crimes which has now led to his arrest and detention in the United States and has been on trial.


Due to the Corona Virus pandemic worldwide, his court trial has been extended till next year for trial.


Insidegist9ja gathered that the trial was scheduled for October 13, after the suspect pleased not guilty to the charges levelled against him. 
Channels report has it that Otis Wright, the district Judge in California, made the declaration that the trial of Hushpuppi’s case will continue in May 4, 2021.

Recall that Hushpuppi was arrested in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, early this year and was extradited to the United States, where he’s been tried for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering conspiracy, international money laundering and engaging in other monetary transaction in property derived from specified unlawful activity.


However, the Hushpuppi’s Lawyer, Gal Pissetzky and Berliner, argued that the Instagram celebrity wasn’t guilty of those crimes charged against their client. They claimed that their client has a legit source of income.

Another recent news from legit.ng reported that a man was found selling Hushpuppi’s portrait in traffic for the sum of N30,000.

This has caused alot of reactions from Nigerians who saw that the man was comfortable with all negativity attached to Hushpuppi and is promoting him to people to buy and play his portrait in their homes.
