Happy Independence Day To My Fellow Nigerians.
Nigeria, a land flowing with milk and honey, blessed with natural resources, and filled with diverse cultures of beautiful colors.
For years we served as servants and slaves. We lost the authority we had and gave up all, being ruled. We could say no word against our masters, not even an eyebrow could be raised for fear of death.

But today marks our 60th year of independence and freedom from the rule that once held us bound to itself.
We have gained the power to be our own people, to fly our flag up high and say “We’re free!” No longer tenants in our land, no longer slaves, no longer bound. We have a place where we can call our home.
We may not all speak one language and have one culture but we have one home: Nigeria. And this is what binds us together.
From the North, South, East and West every tribe stands in honour of our country and the heroes that fought for her freedom.
We’re stronger together and we can conquer anything as a people united in love. Though conflicts will rise, we’ll rise higher in unity and in love.
Arise o compatriots, Nigeria’s call obey. To serve our father land with love, strength and faith. We pledge to Nigeria to be faithful, loyal and honest.
One home. One people. One Nigeria. Happy Independence Day, Nigeria.
