A top officer with the Kano Hisbah Board has been arrested by the state police command after been caught with a married woman in a hotel. He was arrested after a complaint was filed by the woman’s husband.

According to a broadcast from freedom radio Kano, the official was arrested in sabon Gari area of the state. His name is not mentioned but was described as police chief when the matter featured on freedom FM’s popular magazine program “Inda Talks.”
“The arrested officer was in charge of arresting beggars and prostitutes in Kano metro areas. The station reported that the Kano Hisbah commander, Mohammed Haruna described the act as an unfortunate one and revealed that a two-man committee has been established to investigate the matter, freedom FM reported.“
Hisbah officers often arrest un-married individuals caught in hotels, supposedly for sexual activities, as part of their enforcement of Sharia.
